Sol FC Double Down on Keeping Dollars Local

Larry Espinoza, General Manager of Albuquerque Sol FC, loves soccer, but his team has always been committed to being more. “We’re a community building organization, under the guise of a soccer team,” Espinoza often says.

This week, he unveiled the newest iteration of the Sol’s commitment to central New Mexico: HoldMyTicket, an ABQ based ticketing company, will be the Sol’s official ticketing partner for the 2018 season.

Individual game tickets are now available for sale online!

“Even though there are other ticketing companies out of state that are more focused on soccer and sports franchises, we have chosen to partner with a local ticketing company as we truly value the power of keeping our dollars local,” said Espinoza.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with the Sol. Albuquerque Sol FC is truly committed to bringing the best soccer possible to New Mexico, and we are happy to be a part of that,” said Wes Eding, CEO of HoldMyTicket.

Martha Hargrove, President of KeepitQuerque, intimately understands the importance of partnerships like this. “When you spend your money locally, 48% of it stays in Albuquerque, compared to just 15% at a chain.  AND independent retailers return more than three times as much money per dollar of sales than their chain competitors.” Hargrove continued, “Growing Albuquerque’s economy starts with the ‘Buy Local’ effort and the multiplier effect starts with just one person and one dollar that is spent locally!  Every effort to work together and spend here in Albuquerque benefits all of us. Keep It Querque advocates on behalf of all local business owners to support our neighbors, create jobs, and keep more money in New Mexico.”

Although it is a huge victory for local business, this partnership with HoldMyTicket is not the first of its kind. The Sol recently eschewed out-of- state vendors, in favor of a local one.

“In the offseason, we switched ticketing for our B2B events to locally owned and operated ‘AddMi’ and we’ve been thrilled with their technology and the fact that we are supporting local business!” Said Espinoza.

“We are grateful to have the opportunity to work with Albuquerque Sol FC. Albuquerque Sol offers a glitter of hope that maybe someday we will have a pro soccer team here in Albuquerque,” said Andy Lim , CEO of AddMi. “I truly believe that our community will tremendously benefit from the rise of soccer!”

The Sol kick off their 2018 season on May 5th at St Pius X High School in an friendly match against Colorado Rush. The PDL League campaign starts on the road May 12th, in Tucson, AZ against their arch rival, FC Tucson. The first home PDL league match will be Thursday, May 24th against the Colorado Springs Switchbacks U-23’s.
